We are grateful to our new Contributing Photographer, Sydney Koch, for her lovely photo!

Sydney comments, “Hi! My name is Sydney Koch, and I will be interning with The Foundation for Photo/Art in Hospitals this spring. I am a Marketing and Healthcare Management student at the University of Minnesota, and I spend a lot of my time working in a senior living community as well. I have seen firsthand how having bright and beautiful photos can improve the lives of those living in these communities, as well as those in hospitals and clinics. I am super excited to have the opportunity to share my photography with Elaine and the foundation, and be able to contribute to such a great initiative!
My first contribution to this foundation is a photo taken in Florida, on the gorgeous coastline of Bonita Springs. I look forward to continuing my contributions to this foundation and its mission!”

Many thanks to Natalie Shepherd, our new Contributing Photographer, for her lovely photo taken in the Yosemite National Park!

Natalie comments, “Hello! My name is Natalie Shepherd and I’m a student from Minnesota. I’m also one of the interns for Healing Photo Art while I am studying in Florence this semester. I am so grateful to Elaine for allowing me to contribute one of my photos to her gallery. When I was assigned to work with Healing Photo Art I was so excited to be able to see the behind the scenes of this foundation and everything that goes into running it. I’m taking a photography class this semester so being able to learn about the art that goes into photography while also seeing it in action has been really fulfilling. Thank you again to Elaine for her kindness and help with this process! I can’t wait to see what this foundation accomplishes in the future.”

Severine Chanay-Savoyen, Quebec Canada (P617)

Welcome to Severine Chanay-Savoyen, our new Contributing Photographer!

My name is Séverine, and art has always been a source of solace and inspiration in my life. When I discovered Healing Art Photos, I was profoundly touched by its mission to use visual art to bring comfort and positivity to others.

Since early 2023, I have been thinking about ways to share the photographs I’ve taken, hoping they could bring joy to others. I was initially shy about sharing my work, but recently, after being diagnosed with ALS, I felt a renewed urgency to connect and make a difference. This journey led me to reach out to Elaine and donate one of my photos to this inspiring organization.

It is an incredible honor to contribute to a cause that aligns so deeply with my belief in the healing power of art. Knowing that my photograph may bring comfort or inspire someone in their time of need is profoundly meaningful to me.

Thank you for creating a space where art serves as a source of healing and hope. It is truly a privilege to support your mission.

With gratitude,
Séverine

John Ringeri, Tasmania, Australia (P608)

Enjoy this lovely photo of our new Contributing Photographer, John Ringeri, taken at Dove Lake, Tasmania, Australia. The photograph presented here was taken in the iconic Cradle Mountain – Lake St Clair National Park which is the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. This park is revered for its diverse and breath-taking landscapes: from moss-covered ancient rainforests and deep river gorges to snow-covered mountain peaks, wild alpine moorlands and glacial lakes.

John comments, “My name is John Ringeri and I am an active Melbourne (Australia) based photographer and president of a local photographic society. I came across Healing Photo Art in a recent article in MEDIUM publication and it resonated with me. Personally I have had family members affected by cancer, with my mother dying from Melanoma at the age of 52.  I fully understand the benefit of improving people’s outlook, personal mood and well being in their unfortunate condition. Having travelled to some spectacular places in the world, it is a great pleasure to be able to share the visual impact of some of these beautiful natural wonders with those who are confined to hospital treatments for a significant period.  In my mother’s memory and my family affected by cancer, I am honoured to be able to share my work through the Foundation for Photo/Art in Hospitals initiative founded by Elaine Poggi.”
