JoAnn H. Turner, Contributing Photographer
Many thanks to our new Contributing Photographer, JoAnn H. Turner, for her colorful photo!
JoAnn comments, “I served as a caregiver for my parents and now caring for my sister who has autism. For years Mom and Dad were amazing with their talents. Dad was a craftsman while Mom shared her love for art. Art was what brought out the best in my sister, and when my aging parents were taken under our care, my joy was writing stories and displaying Sister’s pictures to lift their spirits and quality of life. I painted their home interior with happy colors, adding my sisters vibrant art. Our yard was a garden of colorful flowers, veggies and plants. Our loving parents are no longer with us, but my heart is content that my sister and I carried the torch of Mom and Dad’s creativity. I mentioned to a dear friend about finding out how I can share some of our photography and paintings with hospitals. Thus, the introduction to your wonderful foundation. I was elated. To have one of my works on display is truly an honor, knowing it may lift someone’s spirits while coping with illness of their own or someone they love . That’s one of the biggest accomplishments an artist can have –truly priceless. Many thanks to Founder Elaine Poggi–a true gem– for her selfless contribution and motivation for Photo/Art in Hospitals. Brava!
By all means join us on this fulfilling journey to lift smiles on faces, even during their most critical moment.”

A quote from Michael P. Doyle
“Hi Elaine!
You have just made my day, week, month and year! I want to cry because I’m so happy. The fact is, my photo going to children’s hospitals who serve children with disabilities makes it all the much better. I have a disability too. I looked at the website and what a fantastic place for my photo to be. I’m so grateful to you and your wonderful foundation. You have an awesome job!”
This was the response from Michael Doyle when I told him that his photo was sent to CURE Children’s Hospitals in Kenya, Malawi, and Ethiopia. Healing Photo Art rocks!❤️

Many thanks to our new Contributing Photographer Denise Barnhart from California!
Denise comments, “My mom is a retired registered nurse, so I thought it would be cool to get my photographs in a hospital. I know those patient rooms need some color! A quick search led me to Healing Photo Art. I was so excited when they chose to feature one of my images! What Elaine is doing is so important, not just to the well-being of patients and hospital workers, but to the livelihoods of photographers who need exposure. The validation and confidence boost are nice, too! Please support Healing Photo Art!”

Many thanks to our new Contributing Photographer Deborah Roy for her lovely photo! Deborah writes, “What an absolute pleasure to work with Elaine and the Foundation for Photo/Art in Hospitals. I discovered this wonderful nonprofit through the North American Nature Photography Association. I have long known the benefits of nature imagery to one’s mental and health status and wanted to find a way to play a role in helping others achieve this benefit. Working with Elaine made this a seamless process. She was extraordinary in her communication, very professional, and personable. I am excited to have my work benefit others around the globe. Thank you for this opportunity!”
Paul Ferro, Contributing Photographer
Enjoy this lovely reflection photo by our new Contributing Photographer Paul Ferro from New Jersey! Paul writes, “I was led to the Foundation for Photo/Art in Hospitals from a visit to an urgent care facility. There was a picture of the hills of Tuscany in the room I was in and it was a soothing image to me and provided comfort when I was in distress. I decided to look up the artist and that led me to Elaine and the foundation. What a great idea I thought and it inspired me to share some of my own photos one of which was selected to become part of the collection. Elaine was very supportive and helpful throughout the submission process! I am going to spread the word about the foundation to family and friends. It truly is a worthy and wonderful cause. Thank you!”
Minh Phan, Contributing Photographer

It has been a great experience. I have contributed my photo that I took at the Gooseberry Falls to the Foundation. I’m happy to know that my photo was donated to facilities in Nepal and India. I worked with the Founder of this Foundation, and it was very inspiring.”
Michael P. Doyle, Contributing Photographer
Welcome to our new Contributing Photographer Michael P. Doyle from South Carolina. Michael comments, “A friend introduced me to Elaine Poggi, Founder and President of The Foundation for Photo/Art in Hospitals. Elaine throughly went over what this amazing organization does. She contacted me about sending three photos for the possibility of them being displayed in a hospital somewhere in the world! I was very intrigued and was flattered when she picked one of my photos. She was so kind, helpful and very professional. I love photography and this was my first opportunity to show my photograph. Donating my first photo is exactly how I wanted to begin my profession. I owe all this to Elaine. If you want to help out a fabulous non-profit organization and you love photography please look into this foundation.”

Stefano Marsili-Libelli, Contributing Photographer
Many thanks to our new Contributing Photographer, Stefano Marsili-Libelli, for his lovely photo of Ponte Vecchio in Florence, Italy! Stefano comments,
“While recovering from a major surgery, one day I lingered along the corridors of the hospital ward and was struck to see the otherwise plain walls enlivened by beautiful photos of Florence cityscapes. Surely I wasn’t in my best mood, but I really got a kick from those pictures. I read the signature of HealingPhotoArt.org and decided to contact the responsible person. Elaine Poggi is really one of a kind, exuding enthusiasm and a genuine desire to help suffering people. A warm and enthusiastic email exchange followed from my hospital bed, and my offer to contribute was readily accepted.
I immediately grasped and shared the mission of the association to provide usually dull and nondescript places like hospital departments with some comforting, uplifting images, just to remind the patients that the outside world is not lost to them, but is waiting for their comeback.
Apart from the satisfaction of making my photos available to a number of people in need of an uplift, I have met Elaine, the driving force behind all this, a wonderful person with an unlimited supply of enthusiasm and care, whose friendship I’ll treasure forever.”
