Many thanks to our new Contributing Photographer, Steve Johnston, for his lovely photo taken in the Yosemite Valley in California! Steve comments, “I was introduced to Healing Photo Art by a mutual friend of the Founder. My introduction to the mission has been very rewarding and enlightening. I believe the mission is very creative and leverages many disciplines to economically deliver artwork to the walls of hospitals around the world. I am excited to be a new part of it.”
18th Year Anniversary of Healing Photo Art
18 years ago I created the Foundation for Photo/Art in Hospitals, a nonprofit organization in which we place beautiful nature photos in hospitals around the world. I did this to honor my mother after assisting her for almost 3 months in the hospital. I saw a need for art in hospitals and I carried through on my idea. As of today, we have placed over 8000 photos in more than 400 healthcare facilities on all continents, with the help of our almost 400 Contributing Photographers from across the globe. This past year we have had many requests from hospitals facing the pandemic. My hope is that our colorful photos are giving comfort and hope not only to the patients but also to the healthcare workers who are risking their lives to care for us.
